8. Offertorium Domine, Jesu Christe, Rex gloriæ, libera animas omnium fidelium defunctorum de pœnis inferni et de profundo lacu. Libera eas de ore leonis, ne absorbeat eas tartarus, ne cadant in obscurum; sed signifer sanctus Michæl repræsentet eas in lucem sanctam, quam olim Abrahæ promisisti et semini ejus. Господи, Иисус Христос, Царь славы, освободи души всех верных усопших от наказаний ада, от глубокого рва. Освободи их от пасти льва, да не поглотит их Тартар, да не упадут они во тьму. 8. Offertorium
Domine, Jesu Christe, Rex gloriæ,
libera animas omnium fidelium defunctorum
de pœnis inferni et de profundo lacu.
Libera eas de ore leonis,
ne absorbeat eas tartarus,
ne cadant in obscurum;
sed signifer sanctus Michæl
repræsentet eas in lucem sanctam,
quam olim Abrahæ promisisti et semini ejus.
Lord Jesus Christ, King of glory,
free the souls of all the faithful departed
from the punishments of hell, from a deep ditch.
Free them from the lion's mouth
may Tartarus not swallow them,
may they not fall into darkness.
But Saint Michael the banner-bearer
will present them in a sacred light:
as you once promised Abraham and his seed.
