Die Kugeln pfeifen um ihn rum, Der Spartakist, er kümmert sich nicht drum. Und dröhnend schießt die Artillerie. Doch Spartakus hat nur Infanterie. Oh , Spree -Athens , oh, Athens on the Spree ,
Oh, how much blood did you see ?
Rests on your Friedrichsfelde
Many a brave Spartacus blood.
In January to midnight
A Vanguard stood on guard .
He stood with pride , and he was genuine,
He fought for a new law.
And with the gun in hand
He stood behind the newspaper bales.
The bullets whistling around him around,
The Vanguard , he cares not drum .
And booming shoots the artillery.
But Spartacus has only infantry.
Grenades beat him -
The Noskehunde storm Büxenstein !
