Our little striped kitten
Ate up Daddy’s wires!
Now the internet won't connect—
Run for cover, everyone!
Grandma has a cat named Matvey—
He’s lazier than a wardrobe!
He lies on the stove bench all day long,
Moving nothing but a paw!
My kitten and I played hide-and-seek—
We got so caught up in the game!
He crawled right under the blanket,
And I spent half the day looking for him!
Aunt Zina’s gray cat
Is as plump and round as a pancake!
He just purrs, "Give me some fish soup!"
Then snores away amidst the featherbeds.
The cat is playing with a ball of yarn—
There are threads everywhere, filling the whole house!
Grandma knits, but then—whoosh!—
He tangles it all up in a flash!
My kitty is a terrible glutton;
He begs for food a hundred times in a row!
The moment you give him a sausage,
He rumbles like a machine!
The cat climbed up a tree,
But now he won't come down!
I stand below and call out, "Here, kitty!"
And he just laughs right back at me!
