All these thoughts swirling in my head—
They keep me from sleeping, filling me with dread:
That I might lose myself amidst the crowd.
But which way should I turn...
To escape the burning flame?
All those eyes are watching my retreat;
They do not want me here—they wish I’d leave.
They dream of stripping me of every victory,
And seeing me vanish, utterly and completely.
But pay no mind to what the others say;
They will not believe, nor will they ever dream.
And gazing out the window at the living stars,
They will never learn that they, too, have the power to fly.
And I refuse to linger here among them,
For not a single one believes in their own self.
So take me with you! Close your eyes and do not listen
To all these thousands of opinions.
You can become even better
If you harbor no doubts

And that no one will ever abandon you.
They will never truly know
Who you really are.
Everyone sees only what they wish to see;
We are simply not built any other way.

But do not dwell on what others might say;
