Евангелие от Луки, Глава 9, стихи 12-18. 12 День же начал склоняться к вечеру. И, приступив к Нему, двенадцать говорили Ему: отпусти народ, чтобы они пошли в окрестные селения и деревни ночевать и достали пищи; потому что мы здесь в пустом месте. 13 Но Он сказал им: вы дайте им есть. Они сказали: у нас нет более пяти хлебов и двух рыб; разве нам пойти купить пищи для всех сих людей? 14 Ибо их было около пяти тысяч человек. Но Он сказал ученикам Своим: рассадите их рядами по пятидесяти. 15 И сделали так, и рассадили всех. 16 Он же, взяв пять хлебов и две рыбы и воззрев на небо, благословил их, преломил и дал ученикам, чтобы раздать народу. 17 И ели, и насытились все; и оставшихся у них кусков набрано двенадцать коробов. 18 В одно время, когда Он молился в уединенном месте, и ученики были с Ним, Он спросил их: за кого почитает Меня народ? Комментирует протоиерей Павел Великанов. Чудо умножения хлебов, о котором мы сейчас слышали, вполне можно назвать самым публичным чудом, совершённом Иисусом Христом. Утомлённые ученики и последователи Спасителя, оказавшись в пустынном месте, испытывают потребность подкрепить свои силы – но при этом ясно понимают, что нигде поблизости не найти еды для такой огромной толпы. Иисус повелевает рассадить всех, словно на плацу, небольшими группами – достаёт хлеб и рыбу, обращает еду к Богу со словами благодарения – преломляет хлеб и передаёт ученикам. И здесь есть один незаметный момент, на который хотелось бы обратить внимание. Давайте представим себя на месте одного из апостолов. Что он видит? Учителя, в руках которого хлеб и небольшая рыбка. Толпы людей, рассаженных на траве. Берег Галилейского озера. Иисус даёт хлеб и рыбу, и ученик идёт к людям. Достаёт из корзины эту скромную еду – люди принимают с благодарностью. Переходит к следующим – и продолжает эту вполне рутинную процедуру. В какой-то момент ученика неизбежно посещает мысль: странно, еда давно должна была бы кончиться – но почему-то сколько ни бери из этой корзинки, она откуда-то там появляется снова. Внешне ничего сверхъестественного не происходит: из корзины достают обычную, самую простую, еду. Никаких громов, молний и землетрясений. Всё вполне буднично. Сидящие на траве тоже не видят ничего выдающегося: подумаешь, хлеб и рыба, еда бедняков. И только после того, как все уже насытились, стали собирать недоеденные остатки – и только тогда вспомнили, что в начале-то было пять хлебов и две рыбки – а теперь одних объедков двенадцать полных корзин! Что происходило в головах тех, кто сидел на траве и ел – однозначно скажет вскоре сам Спаситель: ведь они и дальше пойдут за Ним, потому что поняли: с Иисусом голодать не будешь! Не чудо как свидетельство Его Божественности, а сытый желудок – вот какой для них главный аргумент! По большому счету, им без разницы, каким образом в пустом месте Иисус раздобыл столько еды: чудом ли, или какой-то вполне житейской хитростью – главное, что сыты! В чуде насыщения пятью хлебами и двумя рыбами пятитысячной толпы перед нами открывается важная черта Христа Спасителя – Его невероятная скромность. Послушайте только, что Он говорит ученикам: «Вы дайте им есть!» Не «Смотрите все, внимание: Я вас всех сейчас накормлю чудесным образом!» – но – «вы дайте им есть! Я здесь вообще ни при чём: ваши хлебы – и ваши рыбы, у Меня вообще нет никакой еды. Вы принесли с собой еду – вы её и раздавайте людям. Ничего особого Я не делал. Христос нигде Себя не выпячивает; напротив, все дела, какого бы невероятного масштаба они не были, покрывается Божественным смирением. Для Него гораздо важнее, чтобы люди были сыты – при этом Он понимает, что для Его главного дела, проповеди Евангелия – это скорее будет помехой, нежели чем подспорьем: ведь они теперь точно захотят сделать Его Царём и Вождём, потому что ели и насытились. Но Спаситель всё равно на это идёт – потому что для Него необходимость накормить голодных важнее, нежели чем те риски, которые Он понесёт. Как важно помнить и нам, что глубинное уважение к человеку начинается не тогда, когда мы открываем перед ним все тайники собственной души – а когда просто начинаем участвовать в разрешении его казалось бы самых простейших потребностей! И здесь нет никакой разницы, кто перед тобой – враг или друг, родственник или иноплеменник, красивый или некрасивый, святой или явный грешник. Напои его, когда он жаждет, накорми, если он голоден, одень, когда он обнажён, помоги переночевать – а обо всё остальном – и твоём в том числе – позаботится Сам Бог! Ведь в этом мире у Бога есть только одни руки для добрых дел – и эти руки – наши! Смотрите также:

12 Day began to lean towards evening. And, having approached Him, the twelve said to Him: Let the people go, so that they go to the neighboring villages and villages to spend the night and get food; because we are here in an empty place.
13 But He said unto them, Give ye them to eat. They said: we have no more than five loaves and two fish; do we go buy food for all these people?
14 For there were about five thousand people. But He said to His disciples: Seat them in rows of fifty.
15 And they did so, and they made all sit down.
16 But he took five loaves of bread and two fish and looked up to heaven, blessed them, broke them, and gave them to his disciples to distribute to the people.
17 And they did eat, and were all satisfied; and the pieces left over from them were scored twelve baskets.
18 At one time, when He prayed in a secluded place, and the disciples were with Him, He asked them: for whom does the people regard Me?

The miracle of bread multiplication, which we have just heard about, can be called the most public miracle performed by Jesus Christ. Tired disciples and followers of the Savior, finding themselves in a deserted place, feel the need to strengthen their strength - but at the same time they clearly understand that there is nowhere to find food for such a huge crowd. Jesus commands to seat everyone, as if on a parade ground, in small groups - he takes out bread and fish, turns food to God with words of thanksgiving - breaks bread and gives it to his disciples. And there is one imperceptible moment that I would like to draw attention to.
Let us imagine ourselves in the place of one of the apostles. What does he see? A teacher who holds bread and a small fish in his hands. Crowds of people seated on the grass. The shore of Lake Galilee. Jesus gives bread and fish, and the disciple goes to the people. He takes this modest food out of the basket - people accept it with gratitude. He goes on to the next - and continues this completely routine procedure. At some point, the student inevitably visits the thought: it is strange that the food should have ended long ago - but for some reason, no matter how much you take from this basket, it appears from somewhere again. Outwardly, nothing supernatural happens: they take out ordinary, simplest food from the basket. No thunder, lightning, or earthquake. Everything is quite casual. Those sitting on the grass, too, see nothing outstanding: think, bread and fish, the food of the poor. And only after everyone was already full, they began to collect half-eaten leftovers - and only then remembered that at the beginning there were five loaves of bread and two fish - and now there were twelve full baskets of leftovers!
What happened in the heads of those who sat on the grass and ate — the Savior himself would soon say unequivocally: after all, they would continue to follow Him, because they understood that you would not go hungry with Jesus! Not a miracle as a testimony of His Divinity, but a full stomach - this is their main argument! By and large, it doesn’t matter to them how Jesus got so much food in an empty place: by miracle, or by some completely worldly trick - the main thing is that they are full!
In the miracle of saturation with five loaves of bread and two fish of a five thousandth crowd, an important feature of Christ the Savior - His incredible modesty - is revealed before us. Listen only to what He says to the disciples: “You give them something to eat!” Do not “Watch everything, attention: I will feed you all miraculously now!” - but - “you give them something to eat!” I have nothing to do with it: your breads and your fish, I have no food at all. You brought food with you - you distribute it to people. I didn’t do anything special.
Christ does not stick out Himself anywhere; on the contrary, all matters, however incredible they may be, are covered by divine humility. It is much more important for Him that people are well-fed - and at the same time He understands that for His main business, the preaching of the Gospel will be more of an obstacle than an help: after all, they will now definitely want to make Him King and Leader, because they ate and were filled. But the Savior does this anyway - because for Him the need to feed the hungry is more important than the risks that He will bear.
It is also important for us to remember that deep respect for a person does not begin when we open before him all the caches of our own souls, but when we simply begin to participate in resolving his seemingly simplest needs! And there is no difference who is in front of you - an enemy or friend, relative or foreigner, beautiful or ugly, holy or manifest sinner. Water him when he is thirsty, feed him if he is hungry, dress him when he is naked, help him to spend the night - and God Himself will take care of everything else, including yours! Indeed, in this world God has only one hands for good deeds - and these hands are ours!
