(Книга Чисел 20) И вновь общество Израильское оказалось в пустыне, в том самом месте, где Бог испытывал евреев вскоре после того, как они вышли из Египта. Тогда Бог дал им из скалы воду, которая продолжала течь до тех пор, пока они опять не подошли к ней. Теперь, в очередной раз испытывая Свой народ, Господь остановил поток, бежавший из скалы, желая увидеть, выдержат ли люди это испытание или вновь будут роптать на Него. Испытывая жажду и нигде не находя воды, вместо того чтобы довериться Богу, евреи, забыв о силе Всемогущего, которая в скале открыла им источник воды на этом самом месте почти сорок лет назад, в раздражении и нетерпении стали выражать свое недовольство Моисеем и Аароном, говоря им: "О, если бы умерли тогда и мы, когда умерли братья наши пред Господом!" Это они сожалели о том, что не оказались в числе тех, кто погиб от Божьей кары во время восстания Корея, Дафана и Авирона. Израильтяне сердито спрашивали: "Зачем вы привели общество Господне в эту пустыню, чтоб умереть здесь нам и скоту нашему? И для чего вывели вы нас из Египта, чтобы привести нас на это негодное место, где нельзя сеять, нет ни смоковниц, ни винограда, ни гранатовых яблок, ни даже воды для питья?" "И пошел Моисей и Аарон от народа ко входу скинии собрания, и пали на лица свои, и явилась им слава Господня. И сказал Господь Моисею, говоря: возьми жезл и собери общество, ты и Аарон, брат твой, и скажите в глазах их скале, и она даст из себя воду: и так ты изведешь им воду из скалы, и напоишь общество и скот его. И взял Моисей жезл от лица Господа, как Он повелел ему". Моисей уступает искушению "И собрали Моисей и Аарон народ к скале, и сказал он им: послушайте, непокорные, разве нам из этой скалы известь для вас воду? И поднял Моисей руку свою и ударил в скалу жезлом своим дважды, и потекло много воды, и пило общество и скот его. И сказал Господь Моисею и Аарону: за то, что вы не поверили Мне, чтоб явить святость Мою пред очами сынов Израилевых, не введете вы народа сего в землю, которую Я даю ему". Моисей согрешил. Народ постоянно роптал против него, и Моисею становилось все труднее выслушивать это. Взяв по повелению Господа жезл, вместо того чтобы обратиться с речью к скале, он дважды ударил по ней, сказав перед этим: "Разве нам из этой скалы известь для вас воду?" Это были необдуманные слова. Моисей не сказал, что Бог ныне явит им еще одно доказательство Своей силы, и из скалы потечет вода. Он не подчеркнул, что сила и слава за то, что вода вновь полилась из твердой скалы, принадлежат Богу, а это значит, что Творец всего не был прославлен Моисеем перед народом. За эту ошибку Бог не позволил Моисею ввести народ Израильский в обетованную землю. Возникшая необходимость еще раз проявить Божью силу делала это событие очень серьезным, поэтому Моисею и Аарону надлежало, со своей стороны, сделать все, чтобы люди усвоили то, чему Бог хотел научить их. Однако Моисей был рассержен на соплеменников из-за их постоянного ропота и сказал: "Послушайте, непокорные, разве нам из этой скалы известь для вас воду?" Сказав так, он фактически признал, что народ прав, ропща на него и обвиняя его самого в том, что он вывел их из Египта. Бог прощал народу гораздо большие преступления, по сравнению с этим прегрешением Моисея, однако грех руководителя народа и грех тех, кем он руководил, - это не одно и то же. Вседержитель не мог извинить Моисею его грех и позволить ему войти в обетованную землю. Таким образом Господь дал Своему народу безошибочное доказательство того, что его чудесное избавление, освобождение из египетского рабства, было совершено не Моисеем, а могущественным Ангелом. Этот Ангел шел впереди них все время их странствования, и о Нем Сам Творец сказал: "Вот, Я посылаю пред тобою Ангела хранить тебя на пути и ввести тебя в то место, которое Я приготовил. ( Book of Numbers 20)
Again, the congregation of Israel was in the wilderness, in the very place where God was testing the Jews soon after they came out of Egypt . Then God gave them water out of the rock , which continued to flow as long as they do not come back to her. Now , once again testing his people , the Lord stopped the flow , who escaped from the rock , wanting to see if people will survive this ordeal or will again murmured against Him.
Thirsty and never finding water , instead of trusting in God , the Jews , forgetting about the power of the Almighty, that in the rock opened their source of water at this place almost forty years ago , in frustration and impatience began to express their dissatisfaction with Moses and Aaron , saying, them : & quot; Oh, if only we had died then , when our brethren died before the LORD ! & quot; This they were sorry that was not among those who died from God's punishment during the rebellion of Korah, Dathan , and Abiram .
Israelis angrily asked : & quot; Why did you bring congregation of the LORD into this wilderness, to die there, we and our cattle ? And why have you brought us up out of Egypt , to bring us to this evil place where you can not seed, or of figs , or of vines , or of pomegranates , or even water to drink ? & Quot;
& quot; And Moses and Aaron went from the people to the entrance of the tent of meeting , and fell on their faces , and the glory of the LORD appeared unto them . And the Lord spake unto Moses , saying, Take the rod, and assemble the congregation , thou, and Aaron thy brother , and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes , and it will give out its water and so you izvedesh them water from the rock , and watered and their beasts also . And Moses took the rod from before the LORD , as he commanded him & quot ;.
Moses gives way to temptation
& quot; And Moses and Aaron gathered the people of the rock, and he said unto them , Hear now , ye rebels us out of this rock for you water? And Moses lifted up his hand and struck the rock with his rod twice , and water came out abundantly , and the congregation drank, and their beasts . And the Lord said to Moses and Aaron , because you did not believe in me, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel , you shall not bring this congregation into the land which I give to him & quot ;.
Moses sinned . People constantly murmured against him, and Moses became increasingly difficult to listen to it . Taking command of the Lord by the rod , instead addressed the rock, he struck it twice , saying in front of this : & quot; Do us out of this rock for you water ? & Quot; It was a hasty word. Moses said that God will reveal to them now is another proof of his power , and from the rock water flows . He did not said that the power and the glory for what water again flowed out of solid rock , belong to God , and this means that the Creator of all things was not glorified by Moses to the people. For this error , God did not allow Moses to lead the people of Israel into the Promised Land .
The resulting need for more time to show the power of God made this event very seriously , so Moses and Aaron were to , for their part , do everything that people have learned what God wanted to teach them . But Moses was angry with the tribesmen because of their constant murmuring and said : & quot; Hear now, you rebels , shall we bring out of this rock for you water ? & Quot; So saying , he actually admitted that the people are right , murmuring at him and accusing him that he brought them out of Egypt. God forgave the people of far greater crimes than this sin of Moses , but the head of the sin and the sin of those people , whom he led - it's not the same thing . Almighty could not excuse his sin Moses and allow him to enter the promised land.
Thus the Lord gave His people the unmistakable evidence that his miraculous deliverance , liberation from slavery in Egypt , had been committed not by Moses , and a powerful angel . This Angel was ahead of them all the time of their pilgrimage , and to Him the Creator said : & quot; Behold, I send an Angel before thee , to keep thee in the way and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared . Beware of him, and obey his voice ; Do not rebel against him, because he will not pardon your transgression ; for my name is in him, & quot; (Ex. 23:20, 21).
