(Книга Иисуса Навина 1; 3-6; 23; 24) После смерти Моисея вождем Израильского народа стал Иисус Навин, которому Бог поручил ввести Свой народ в обетованную землю. На протяжении большей части странствования Израиля по пустыне Иисус был первым помощником Моисея. Он видел чудесные дела Божьи, совершенные Им через Моисея, и хорошо знал нравы своего народа. Он был одним из двенадцати соглядатаев, посланных осматривать обетованную землю, и одним из двух, кто правдиво рассказывал народу о ее богатствах и воодушевлял всех пойти и с помощью силы Божьей овладеть ею. Он был хорошо подготовлен для этой важной должности. Господь пообещал Иисусу пребывать с ним, как и с Моисеем, и покорить пред ним все народы, жившие в Ханаане, при условии, что Навин будет в точности соблюдать Его заповеди и повеления. Иисуса Навина беспокоило, каким образом он введет народ в Ханаанскую землю, но это ободрение устранило все его страхи. Вскоре Иисус повелел сынам Израилевым приготовиться к трехдневному путешествию. Всем, кто может сражаться, было приказано подготовиться к битве. "Они в ответ Иисусу сказали: все, что ни повелишь нам, сделаем, и куда ни пошлешь нас, пойдем; как слушали мы Моисея, так будем слушать и тебя: только Господь, Бог твой, да будет с тобою, как Он был с Моисеем. Всякий, кто воспротивится повелению твоему и не послушает слов твоих во всем, что ты ни повелишь ему, будет предан смерти. Только будь тверд и мужествен!" При переходе через Иордан Израилю предстояло пережить чудо. "И сказал Иисус народу: освятитесь, ибо завтра сотворит Господь среди вас чудеса. Священникам же сказал Иисус: возьмите ковчег завета, и идите пред народом. Священники взяли ковчег завета, и пошли пред народом. Тогда Господь сказал Иисусу: в сей день Я начну прославлять тебя пред очами всех сынов Израиля, дабы они узнали, что, как Я был с Моисеем, так буду и с тобою". Переход через Иордан Священники шли впереди народа, неся ковчег, в котором находился Закон Божий. Когда они ступили в Иордан, воды расступились. Священники продолжали идти, неся ковчег, символ Божественного присутствия, а все воинство израильское следовало за ними. На середине Иордана священникам было ведено оставаться стоять в русле реки до тех пор, пока весь народ Израильский не перейдет на другой берег. Это поколение сынов Израилевых было убеждено, что воды Иордана остановила та самая сила, которая сорок лет назад заставила расступиться перед их отцами Чермное море. Тогда многие из них были детьми, а теперь стали воинами и переходили Иордан в полной боевой готовности. Как только весь народ перешел Иордан и по велению Иисуса из реки вышли священники, Иордан устремился вперед, вернувшись в свое русло. Это чудо, совершенное Богом для израильтян, сильно укрепило их веру. Желая сохранить память об этом чудесном переходе, Господь велел Иисусу выбрать по одному человеку из каждого колена, чтобы они взяли по одному камню со дна реки с того места, где стояли священники, и принесли их на своих плечах для сооружения монумента в Галгале в память о том, как Израиль посуху перешел Иордан. (Joshua 1, 3-6 , 23, 24)
After the death of Moses, the leader of the nation of Israel was Joshua , whom God instructed His people to enter the promised land. For most of the wanderings of Israel in the wilderness , Jesus was the first assistant of Moses. He saw the wonderful works of God , through Moses, He committed , and he knew the manners of its people. He was one of the twelve spies sent to explore the land of promise , and one of the two who truthfully told people about her wealth and encouraged all to go and using the power of God possess. He was well prepared for this important post. The Lord Jesus promised to be with him, as with Moses, and before him to conquer all the nations living in Canaan , provided that Naveen is exactly to keep His commandments and precepts . Joshua was concerned how he will bring people into the land of Canaan , but that excitement has eliminated all his fears.

In passing through Jordan to Israel was to experience the miracle . & quot; And Joshua said unto the people, Sanctify yourselves , for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you . Priests, Jesus said, Take up the ark of the covenant , and pass over before the people. The priests took up the ark of the covenant , and went before the people. Then the Lord said unto Joshua, This day will I begin to magnify thee in the sight of all Israel , that they may know that, as I was with Moses , so I will be with thee, & quot ;.
Go through the Jordan
The priests went before the people , carrying the ark , which was the law of God . When they stepped into the Jordan , the water parted . Priests continued to walk , carrying the ark , the symbol of God's presence , and all the host of Israel followed them . In the middle of the Jordan priests was ordered to remain standing in the river as long as all the people will not go to the other side . This generation of the children of Israel were convinced that the waters of the Jordan stopped by the very force that made forty years ago made way for their fathers through the Red Sea . Then many of them were children , and now have become warriors and crossed the Jordan into full alert .
As soon as all the people passed over Jordan, and at the command of Jesus from the river came the priests , Jordan rushed forward , back on track . This miracle of God to the Israelites greatly strengthened their faith. Wanting to preserve the memory of this wonderful passage , the Lord told Joshua to choose one man from each tribe , so they took one stone from the bottom of the river from the place where the priests stood , and brought them on his shoulders for the construction of the monument in Gilgal, in memory of how Israel crossed the Jordan on dry land . After the priests came out of the Jordan , God removed His mighty hand , and the water rushed down the river , a torrent spreading along the riverbed .

Nav . 5: 1) , heard that the Lord stopped the waters of the Jordan before the children of Israel, and they feared their hearts faint with horror. They knew that the Israelis struck the two kings of Moab , and this wonderful passage through the rugged , rapid and wide Jordan filled their greatest fear . After crossing the Jordan , Jesus was circumcised all the males born in the wilderness, and then they went on their way across the plains of Jericho. & quot; And the LORD said unto Joshua, This day I took from you the reproach of Egypt & quot; (Isa. Nav . 5: 9) .
