Полуэльф Дезмонд рос в эльфийском королевстве Эния, скрытом от остального мира волшебным барьером, который создавала магическая сфера Эль-Гилэт, принадлежавшая королю Энии, и изучал магию у придворного волшебника Ирдиса. Он влюбился в принцессу Алатиэль, и был ложно обвинен в практике чёрной магии её тайным поклонником, за что был изгнан королём, которого не устраивала увлеченность полуэльфа чистокровной эльфийкой. Дезмонд по настоянию Ирдиса продолжил обучение в школе волшебства в землях людей, и участвовал в некоторых военных походах. During one of the campaigns, he, as a war mage, made a good impression on the warrior Torvald, with whom he later made friendship. In fact, Torvald was the only person who did not shun the half-elf stranger.
At this time, Enia was attacked by the forces of darkness, led by the powerful dark magician Deimos. The home world of Deimos died due to the dying sun. Using complex spells of black magic, Deimos teleported part of his army to Enia and conquered the country. In the throne room, he found the sphere of El Gilet, whose magical power could give him the opportunity to open a portal between Anya and his world. Deimos invited Alatiel to become his wife, so that he became the full king of the elven lands. He threatened that he would sacrifice her otherwise, since to open the gates to his world with the help of a sphere and to teleport the rest of his army, it was necessary to stain the magic amulet with the blood of elves on a special night of the Combination. But Alatiel, who did not want to make concessions to the invader and killer of her father, refused.
Irdis was wounded during the battle with the invaders, but managed to escape through the portal to Desmond and asked him to save Enya. Desmond agreed, hoping that this action would help him clear his name, and also asked Torvald to join him on this campaign. On the way, they stopped in a border tavern at the foot of the mountains, where the Innkeeper, at the direction of Irdis, showed them a secret tunnel leading to Enya under the mountains.
While traveling through the tunnel, Desmond felt the presence of ancient magic and soon found the Rod of the first rulers of Enia. They used this magic artifact to defeat the Dragon sent by Deimos. With the help of surviving elven knights, they broke into the palace, where Deimos tried to complete the ritual. During the battle, Thorvald destroyed El Gilet with the help of the Wand. Deimos managed to escape through the balcony and fly away on his dragon.
After the release of Enya, Desmond married Princess Alatiel, but the exiled half-elf could not be crowned king, and Irdis became a temporary ruler before the children of the new royal family grow up.
