В интервью, данному журналу Бек Хэнсен назвал рифы песни «Supernaut» своими любимыми, наравне с рифами песни Neil Young «Cinnamon Girl.» Фрэнк Заппа так же назвал эту песню одной из своих любимых.Supernaut так же являлась любимой песней Black Sabbath барабанщика Led Zeppelin Джона Бонэма. Black Sabbath Vol. 4 is the fourth studio album by Black Sabbath, recorded by the band with producer Patrick Meehan and released on September 25, 1972. The album peaked to # 8 on the UK Albums Chart and to # 13 on the Billboard 200. The only single from Tomorrow's Dream was released in Germany, the Netherlands and France.
Initially it was supposed to call the album Snowblind, but the record company, knowing about the cocaine subtext of the track of the same name, was afraid of a scandal. Moreover, the track "Snowblind" had to be rewritten, because in the original Osborne would scream after each verse: "Cocaine!" (and continued to do so later in live performances (see Reunion, a bootleg album called Live at Last).
The Black Sabbath thank-you list mentions "the great COKE-Cola Company", also hinting at the drug in question. In addition, in those days, Geezer Butler's white bass had an "Enjoy CoCaine" sticker, which paraphrased the slogan "Enjoy CocaCola."
The album differs from the previous ones by the complete absence of mystical and (anti) religious motives in the lyrics. Moreover, the lyrics "Changes" and "St. Vitus Dance" were regarded by some critics as banal. On the other hand, "Supernaut" has been noted as one of the hardest things in the band's repertoire.
Kerrang Magazine! ranked the album at # 48 on the list of "100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time."
In 2000, Q magazine ranked Vol.4 number 60 on the list of "100 Greatest British Albums". In an interview with the magazine, Beck Hansen named the riffs of "Supernaut" as his favorites, along with the riffs of Neil Young's "Cinnamon Girl." Frank Zappa also named this song one of his favorites. Supernaut was also a favorite song of Black Sabbath by Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham.
