Яри Линдхольм нынче сыскал славу поистине замечательного композитора и исполнителя в жанре атмосферный дум-дэт-метал. Не знать этого молодого шведа, за плечами которого работа над всем известной пластинкой группы Slumber, сольным дебютом Enshine и дум-проектом Exgenesis - значит попросту не ценить жанр. Линдхольм - один из немногих, кто до сих пор привносит в дум-дэт свежие идеи, создавая особую, "космическую", а кое-где и мрачную, депрессивную атмосферу на своих релизах. "Singularity" - уже второй альбом главного проекта Линдхольма, посвященный космической тематике. С философской точки зрения сингулярность - эдакая бесконечность, точка невозврата и неопределенности. Автору удается наложить эту концепцию на музыку с поразительной точностью. Идея также широко отражена в лирике песен. Здесь нет смысла отдельно расписывать о преимуществах каждого опуса. Если первый трек лишь запускает нас в космос, то второй уже дает увидеть яркую звезду, третий сияет светом тысячи солнц, а четвертый отключает подсознание, посылая разум в саму сингулярность. В плейлист заглядывать не стоит, лучше пройти это путешествие от начала и до конца. Таинственные звуки клавиш пронизывают музыкальную оболочку, синтезируя мелодии сквозь сотни галактик, наполняя атмосферой глухого космического одиночества сердца землян. Тихие трели соло-гитары то мягко входят в атмосферу, то пронзительно ревут в такт ритм-гитаре, звучание которой песком времен разливается по горизонту событий. Яростный рык сменяется легким эхо чистейшего пения; и голос слышен прекрасно. Томное настукивание барабанов порой переходит в беспорядочное молочение, постепенно снова успокаиваясь и затихая. Каково это, испытывать одиночество от одного осознания роли человека во Вселенной? Куда уносит вселенская река бесконечности? К чему приведет буйство высшей природы темной материи? Музыка сама наводит слушателя на подобные рассуждения. Но рассуждать совсем не обязательно - можно просто расслабиться и наслаждаться таинственной и меланхоличной атмосферой альбома, который, я уверен, придется по вкусу очень многим, ведь "Singularity" вобрал в себя самое лучшее из всех проектов автора и преподнес это всё в неповторимой космической оболочке. Это творение и есть сам космос. Человеку, пожалуй, не хватит слов, чтобы адекватно его описать. Jari Lindholm has now found fame as a truly remarkable composer and performer in the atmospheric doom-death metal genre. Not to know this young Swede, behind whose work on the well-known album of Slumber, Enshine's solo debut and Exgenesis doom project, simply means not appreciating the genre. Lindholm is one of the few who still brings fresh ideas to doom-death, creating a special, “cosmic”, and in some places gloomy, depressing atmosphere on their releases.
"Singularity" is Lindholm’s second major space album. From a philosophical point of view, the singularity is a kind of infinity, a point of no return and uncertainty. The author manages to apply this concept to music with amazing accuracy. The idea is also widely reflected in the lyrics of the songs.
There is no point in separately describing the benefits of each opus. If the first track only launches us into space, then the second one already allows you to see a bright star, the third one shines with the light of a thousand suns, and the fourth turns off the subconscious, sending the mind into the singularity itself. You don’t need to look into the playlist, it’s better to go through this journey from beginning to end.
Mysterious key sounds penetrate the musical shell, synthesizing melodies through hundreds of galaxies, filling the atmosphere of deaf cosmic solitude with the hearts of earthlings. The quiet trills of the solo guitar now softly enter the atmosphere, or shrill roar to the beat of the rhythm guitar, the sound of which spreads in the sand of time across the event horizon. A furious roar gives way to a slight echo of pure singing; and the voice is heard perfectly. The languid drumming of the drums sometimes becomes indiscriminate milking, gradually calming down again and calming down.
What is it like to feel lonely from one awareness of the role of man in the universe? Where does the universal river of infinity take? What will the riot of the higher nature of dark matter lead to?
The music itself leads the listener to such reasoning. But it’s not necessary to argue at all - you can just relax and enjoy the mysterious and melancholy atmosphere of the album, which, I am sure, will appeal to a lot of people, because "Singularity" has incorporated the best of all the author's projects and presented it all in a unique space shell.
This creation is the cosmos itself. A man, perhaps, does not have enough words to adequately describe him. And if there was a sound in outer space, the piercing notes of "Singularity" - one of the best works in the genre, would be heard there. Have a nice dive.
