В начале сотворил бог небо и землю. Земля была пуста, тьма над бездною, И дух божий носился над водой… И сказал Бог: «Да будет свет!». И стал Свет. Во второй день сотворил Бог твердь посреди воды. На третий день покрылась земля травою, И древами, приносящими по роду своему плод. На четвертый день сотворил Бог светило над твердью небесной,Для отделения дня от ночи, и для знамений, и времен, и дней, и годов. На пятый день повелел Бог: «Да произведет вода пресмыкающихся, душу живую, и птицы да полетят над землею». На шестой день сказал Бог: «Сотворим человека, по образу нашему и подобию, и да владычествуют люди над рыбами морскими и над птицами небесными, и над скотом и над всею землей». И сотворил бог человека из праха земного и вдунул в лицо его дыхание жизни.
