Перевод: "Почитаем Трехокого, Благоухающего, приносящего Благо. Подобно созревшему плоду урваруки да избавит он меня от смерти ради бессмертия!" (Урварука - это т.н. "бешеный огурец", в состоянии спелости отделяющийся от стебля "отстреливающимся" движением.) Цель этой мантры - направленность сознания на Самореализацию и освобождение от цикла рождения и смерти. Мритьюнджайя мантра - Побеждающая смерть - одна из самых древних и мощнейших мантр ведической эпохи дошедших до нас через тысячелетия… Красивый миф о том, что мантру поет сам Далай Лама: был у Далай Ламы верный друг, слег он от неизлечимой болезни, врачи отступили в бессилии… Его святейшество молился у постели друга, пел мантру, Побеждающую смерть - выздоровел его друг, встал здоровый и преисполненным сил. Кто-то удачливый записал пение его святейшества – поплыла слава чудодейственности и исцеляющей силы мантры. Но запретил Далай Лама продавать эту запись… Но правда жизни-то в том, что ни Далай Лама, ни официальная традиция буддизма в целом, к этому исполнению мантры не имеют отношения. Мритьюнджайя мантра в этой версии – из традиции Риг Веды, а веды для буддистов – как это мягче сказать? – не имеют авторитетной значимости… Но дух не имеет ни национальной, ни конфессональной принадлежности… А Голос, поющий Мантру, принадлежит Хейну Браату(Hein Braat), живущему в Голландии. Он родился и первые пять лет своей жизни провел в Curacao (the Dutch Carribean), но вырос в Нидерландах. Его профессией стала музыка. Лет так двадцать с лишнем назад кто-то из друзей посоветовал ему заняться йогой. Рассказывают, что Браат далеко не сразу нашел свою нишу в йогической доктрине. Но вот один из его тогдашних учителей всегда пел во время медитации Мантры — это заинтересовало Хейна — он прекрасно чувствовал, что происходит в его теле при звучании и исполнении тех или иных звуков, как оно реагирует на тона и полутона, он стал изучать санскрит, постигать техники и механизмы — в конечном итоге, — это был его Путь… |

The Mantra of the Great Victory of Death is the ancient Vedic mantra of God Rudra (Shiva), first mentioned in Yajurveda. Translation: "We honor the Three-Filled, Smelling, bringing Good. Like the ripened fruit of urvaruki, may he deliver me from death for the sake of immortality! (Urvaruka is the so-called "mad cucumber", which, in a state of ripeness, separates from the stem by a "shooting" movement.)
