This sermon reveals the true meaning of the contents of chapter 55 of the book of the prophet Isaiah. Each of us has ever thought about how to be happy, how to live life in vain, how to go through life without experiencing resistance, the prototype of which in Is.55 is blackthorn and nettle. However, quite often we make plans, make decisions, and do so without waiting for the voice of the Lord in our hearts. Sometimes we even think that we are serving the very same God, as the Apostle Paul did before he met Jesus. But God through the prophet Isaiah speaks to us: “2. Why do you weigh silver for not bread, and your labor for not saturating? Listen to Me carefully and enjoy the good, and let your soul enjoy the fat. 3. Bend your ear and come to Me: listen, and your soul will live, and I will give you an everlasting covenant, the unchanging mercies promised to David. ” (Isa. 55: 2-3). God calls us to Himself, to listen to His Word, to wait for His testimony in our hearts, and only then make plans, make decisions and act according to His Word that has been heard within us, personally for everyone. Then we will no longer be unreasonable Virgos who, at the time of the Bridegroom's arrival, did not have oil in their lamps, which is a prototype of personal relations with Jesus. And then, as it is written in Isa. 55:12, we will come out with joy and be escorted to the world; mountains and hills will sing a song before us, and all the trees in the field will applaud us. “Cypress will grow instead of blackthorn; instead of nettle myrtle will increase; and it will be in the glory of the Lord, in an eternal sign, indestructible. " (Isa. 55:13).
