Perhaps I never would have fallen in love at all
Had I not crossed paths with her back then.
That first glance, those first feelings—
For a long time afterward, I tormented myself over them.
I am a weak man; I went and drank myself into oblivion,

I downed one bottle, then a second,

I know it may be foolish to dwell on thoughts of her,
