1 Были и лжепророки в народе, как и у вас будут лжеучители, которые введут пагубные ереси и, отвергаясь искупившего их Господа, навлекут сами на себя скорую погибель. 2 И многие последуют их разврату, и через них путь истины будет в поношении. 3 И из любостяжания будут уловлять вас льстивыми словами; суд им давно готов, и погибель их не дремлет. 4 Ибо, если Бог ангелов согрешивших не пощадил, но, связав узами адского мрака, предал блюсти на суд для наказания; 5 и если не пощадил первого мира, но в восьми душах сохранил семейство Ноя, проповедника правды, когда навел потоп на мир нечестивых; 6 и если города Содомские и Гоморрские, осудив на истребление, превратил в пепел, показав пример будущим нечестивцам, 7 а праведного Лота, утомленного обращением между людьми неистово развратными, избавил 8 (ибо сей праведник, живя между ними, ежедневно мучился в праведной душе, видя и слыша дела беззаконные ) - 9 то, конечно, знает Господь, как избавлять благочестивых от искушения, а беззаконников соблюдать ко дню суда, для наказания, 10 а наипаче тех, которые идут вслед скверных похотей плоти, презирают начальства, дерзки, своевольны и не страшатся злословить высших, 11 тогда как и Ангелы, превосходя их крепостью и силою, не произносят на них пред Господом укоризненного суда. 12 Они, как бессловесные животные, водимые природою, рожденные на уловление и истребление, злословя то, чего не понимают, в растлении своем истребятся. 13 Они получат возмездие за беззаконие, ибо они полагают удовольствие во вседневной роскоши; срамники и осквернители, они наслаждаются обманами своими, пиршествуя с вами. 14 Глаза у них исполнены любострастия и непрестанного греха; они прельщают неутвержденные души; сердце их приучено к любостяжанию: это сыны проклятия. 15 Оставив прямой путь, они заблудились, идя по следам Валаама, сына Восорова, который возлюбил мзду неправедную, 16 но был обличен в своем беззаконии: бессловесная ослица, проговорив человеческим голосом, остановила безумие пророка. 17 Это безводные источники, облака и мглы, гонимые бурею: им приготовлен мрак вечной тьмы. 18 Ибо, произнося надутое пустословие, они уловляют в плотские похоти и разврат тех, которые едва отстали от находящихся в заблуждении. 19 Обещают им свободу, будучи сами рабы тления; ибо, кто кем побежден, тот тому и раб. 20 Ибо если, избегнув скверн мира чрез познание Господа и Спасителя нашего Иисуса Христа, опять запутываются в них и побеждаются ими, то последнее бывает для таковых хуже первого. 21 Лучше бы им не познать пути правды, нежели, познав, возвратиться назад от преданной им святой заповеди. 22 Но с ними случается по верной пословице: пес возвращается на свою блевотину, и: вымытая свинья идет валяться в грязи. |

1 There were also false prophets among the people, just as you will have false teachers who introduce destructive heresies and, rejecting the Lord who has redeemed them, will bring themselves quick death.
2 And many will follow their corruption, and through them the path of truth will be reproached.
3 And out of covetousness they will catch you with flattering words; the court has long been ready for them, and their doom is not slumbering.
4 For if God did not spare the sins of the sinners, but tied the knots of hellish darkness, he betrayed him to be watched for punishment;
5 and if he did not spare the first world, but in eight souls kept the family of Noah, a preacher of truth, when he brought the flood to the world of the wicked;
6 and if the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, having condemned to extermination, turned to ashes, setting an example for future wicked people,
7 But he delivered the righteous Lot, weary of the conversion between people passionately depraved
8 (for this righteous man, living between them, was daily tormented in a righteous soul, seeing and hearing the deeds of the lawless) -
9 then, of course, the Lord knows how to deliver the pious from temptation, and to observe the wicked by the day of judgment, for punishment,
10 but most of all those who follow the nasty lusts of the flesh despise the authorities, the daring, the high-handed and not afraid to slander the higher ones,
11 while the Angels, surpassing them in strength and power, do not pronounce reproachful judgment on them before the Lord.
12 They, like wordless animals driven by nature, born to capture and exterminate, slandering what they do not understand, will be destroyed in their own corruption.
13 They will receive the wages of lawlessness, for they lay pleasure in daily luxury; shamers and defilers, they enjoy their deceits, feasting with you.
14 Their eyes are filled with voluptuousness and ceaseless sin; they seduce unconfirmed souls; their heart is accustomed to covetousness: these are the sons of the curse.
15 Leaving the straight path, they got lost, following in the footsteps of Balaam, son of Vosorov, who loved the bribe of the unrighteous,
16 but was convicted of his iniquity: the dumb donkey, speaking in a human voice, stopped the prophet's madness.
17 These are waterless springs, clouds and gloom, driven by a storm: they have prepared the darkness of eternal darkness.
18 For, uttering inflated idle talk, they catch in the carnal lusts and debauchery of those who are barely behind those who are in error.
19 They promise them freedom, being themselves the slaves of corruption; for whoever is defeated by whom is also a slave.
20 For if, having avoided the filth of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they again become entangled in them and overcome by them, then the latter is worse for those worse than the former.
21 It would be better for them not to know the ways of truth, than, having known, to return back from the holy commandment that was devoted to them.
22 But it happens to them according to a true proverb: the dog returns to his vomit, and: the washed pig goes to wallow in the mud.
