Where thoughts are pure and holy,
There, too, are deeds of righteousness;
And only when behind the curtain
Is the true nature of the troupe revealed.
We strive toward the ideal,
Though we ourselves are flawed;
Yet by the final act, it matters most
To discern true values from mere price tags.
The world changes with each passing day;
At times, the clouds gather dark and low.

If we are to live, let it be honestly—
Striving to be spiritually rich;

Of life’s long marathon,
Recall the self you were at the start,
And the person you have become today.
Did you reach out a hand to a friend,
Or leave them abandoned in the pit?
Does your conscience sting for your "triumphs,"
Or do you lie awake at night?
